Nebraska (23-4, 12-4) returned home to host Penn State (11-17, 2-15) on Saturday afternoon. Backed by a career day from Pryce Sandfort, the Huskers dominated the Nittany Lions, 87-64.
Sandfort scored 33 points in the win to give Nebraska a big lead early. In the first half alone, he tallied 20 points, the same total Penn State scored. Sandfort finished 11-of-17 from the floor, 8-of-14 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. He also led the team in rebounds, hauling in nine.
The rest of the team combined for 21-of-45, 6-of-21, 6-of-9 and 27 rebounds. Penn State shot 24-of-57 from the floor, 4-of-20 from beyond the arc and 12-of-17 from the free throw line. The Nittany Lions also secured 33 rebounds.
Braden Frager and Sam Hoiberg combined for 26 points on the day. Frager tallied 15 points, shooting 5-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-8 from three-point range and 1-of-2 from the free throw line. He also hauled in six rebounds. Hoiberg scored 12 points, finishing 4-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the line. He also earned a double-double on the day by adding 10 assists.
Nebraska remains home for its next matchup, welcoming Maryland on Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
