Nebraska softball (21-5, 3-0) concluded its weekend series with Michigan (19-9, 0-3) on Saturday with a doubleheader. The Huskers swept the day to take the series, defeating the Wolverines 8-4 and 5-2.
Nebraska started the day with a strong outing in the batter's box, with the team totaling 10 hits and three home runs. Jordy Frahm, Ava Kuszak and Katelyn Caneda each logged a home run. The trio also combined for 4-of-8 for four RBIs.
Hannah Camenzind tallied three RBIs in the win, batting 2-for-4. Hannah Coor, Lauren Camenzind, Kacie Hoffmann and Samantha Bland all picked up one hit in the first game.
Frahm (7-3) grabbed the win in the circle for Nebraska after pitching the final 4.2 innings. She threw seven strikeouts and allowed two runs. Kylee Magee started the game for the Huskers and tossed the first 2.1 innings. She finished with two strikeouts against two runs.
Kuszak picked up another home run in the second game, giving Nebraska a 1-0 lead. Though Michigan scored two runs shortly after, the Huskers added four unanswered runs across their final two innings at bat. Nebraska finished the game with six hits for five RBIs.
Katelyn Caneda earned two RBIs on a two-run home run in the sixth. Bland and H. Camenzind each pitched in one RBI. Alexis Jensen batted 2-for-3.
H. Camenzind (5-0) won in the circle for Nebraska, starting the game and tossing four scoreless innings. She recorded three strikeouts and allowed three hits. Jensen picked up the save, pitching the final three innings and earning four strikeouts against four hits and two runs.
The Huskers hit the road for their next conference series, traveling to Michigan State. Game one is set for Friday at 4 p.m. CT on B1G+.
