Nebraska softball (49-6) plays host to the Oklahoma State Cowgirls (41-15) at Bowlin Field for the NCAA Super Regionals this weekend. This is the first time in program history that the Huskers will host a super regional.
The Huskers defeated Grand Canyon 1-0 on Sunday to win the Lincoln Regional and punch their ticket to their second consecutive Super Regional. Oklahoma State beat Stanford 11-5 to win the Stillwater Regional and now face off with Nebraska for the second time this year.
The two teams met in Stillwater for a three-game series back in late February, but played only two games due to weather. The Cowgirls claimed the first game 2-1 in 11 innings before the Huskers won game two 4-3.
Nebraska enters the Super Regional with the Big Ten Conference regular-season and tournament titles. As a team, the Huskers are hitting .332 and averaging 6.9 runs per game. The pitching staff has a 1.85 ERA and an opponents' batting average of .201 on the season.
Oklahoma State finished second in the Big 12 regular season standings behind champion Texas Tech. As a team, the Cowgirls are hitting .316 on the season and average 6.6 runs per game. The pitching staff has a 3.22 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .255 on the season.
