Nebraska baseball (26-7) welcomed Kansas (23-10) to Lincoln on a cool Tuesday night. The Huskers dropped the evening battle, falling to the Jayhawks 5-3. This is Nebraska's first loss in over two weeks and snapped its 10-game winning streak.
The Huskers succumbed to a comeback after surviving numerous attempts in past games. Kansas scored four runs over the sixth and seventh innings, taking the 5-3 lead and retiring Nebraska's batters in order in the final three innings. Nebraska finished with five hits and an error, while Kansas totaled seven hits.
The Huskers put up three hits in the second for two runs. Mac Moyer drove in two RBIs off a single for his only hit of the night, finishing 1-for-4. Miken Miller added the team's third run in the fifth with a sacrifice fly. He batted 1-for-3. Jeter Worthley, Rhett Stokes and Joshua Overbeek all earned one hit.
Caleb Clark (1-2) suffered the loss at the mound after surrendering two unearned runs that made the score 5-3. Gavin Blachowicz started the game and tossed four strikeouts against four hits and a run through 5.0 innings.
The Huskers travel to the Pacific Northwest to face Oregon in a three-game conference series starting Friday night. The first game is set for 7 p.m. CT on B1G+.
