The Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a shocker in a 121-119 Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday. They start their Round 2 series in a 0-1 series deficit.
After Chet Holmgren missed two free throws, Russell Westbrook found Aaron Gordon in the final seconds to score the game-winning 3-pointer. It was his second playoff game-winner already. After the Thunder led for most of the second half, playing with fire finally burned them.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a near 33-point triple-double. Alex Caruso contributed 20 points and five steals off the bench. Meanwhile, Holmgren was limited to 12 points and Jalen Williams had just 16 points on 5-of-20 shooting.
Nikola Jokic was a monster with 42 points and 22 rebounds. Gordon had 22 points and 14 rebounds. Westbrook scored 18 points off the bench.
Let's look at what social media said about Gordon's game-winner and Thunder's collapse:

you simply can’t mismanage the last 15 seconds worse than Daigneault and the Thunder.

This might be dramatic.
But that was maybe a season-ending collapse by the Thunder. All-time choke job.

embarrassingly bad game management to end that one.
