After a heartbreaking loss in the Final Four, Cooper Flagg saw his freshman season with the Duke Blue Devils come to an end.
Despite the NCAA Tournament heartbreak, Flagg is still expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-9 forward from Maine proved why he is the projected top pick, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists, taking home the National Player of the Year.
It took a couple of weeks to announce his decision, but Flagg finally declared for the draft in late April. Duke revealed Flagg's move to the NBA with a social media post.
"League next. Duke forever," Duke Men's Basketball wrote on X. "Thank you @Cooper_Flagg

The next stop for Flagg in the draft process could be Wintrust Arena in Chicago for the 2025 NBA Draft Combine (May 11-18). Although he likely won't have to participate to ensure his No. 1 overall selection, Flagg has been named one of the 75 players invited to the combine.
He is joined by numerous of his Blue Devils teammates, including Isaiah Evans, Sion James, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach and Tyrese Proctor.
NBA Communications revealed the full list of draft combine invitees on X.
"The NBA announced today that 75 players have been invited to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, which will take place from May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago," NBA Communications wrote.
Flagg will have to wait until May 12's NBA draft lottery to find out which team selects first. The Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets hold the best odds to land the top pick at 14%.
The 2025 NBA Draft will be held in Brooklyn, NY, on June 25 (first round) and 26 (second round).
