So the league will start awarding Eastern and Western Conference Final MVP awards this year. The Western award will be named after Magic Johnson and the Eastern Award will be named after Larry Bird.
Kind of cool. It's not groundbreaking by any means but it will help recognize some players who have great series. A lot of times the Eastern or Western Conference Finals are more entertaining than the NBA Finals so it's cool there will be some added importance for the players involved.

The NBA is unveiling an ensemble of trophies and awards that will feature new designs and will honor iconic players such as Larry Bird, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Bob Cousy and Oscar Robertson.
