NBA commissioner Adam Silver denied Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's protest of a Feb. 22 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, and then handed the billionaire a 12th six-figure fine for good measure. Cuban's latest public criticism of NBA officials will cost him $500,000. “It is a recognized part of sports for fans and the media at times to criticize officiating, but team executives must be held to a higher standard,” the league office said in a statement.
