The transfer portal giveth and the transfer portal taketh away.

Oregon baseball is going through a little bit of a depression, and it has nothing to do with not making it to Omaha.

For the second straight day, the Ducks lose a big bat in the lineup as designated hitter Nauvilou Lauaki, Jr. has reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.com. This comes on the heels of outfielder and Freshman All-American Angel Laya leaving the program as well.

This is a big loss for Mark Wasikowski's program, quite literally, as the 6-foot-5, 270-pound DH splashed onto the scene as a redshirt freshman, especially in the second half of the season. He was projected to be on the mound for the Ducks in 2027, so this also hurts the pitching staff as well.

NEW: Oregon UTL Naulivou Lauaki Jr. has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per @PeteNakos.

It took Lauaki some time to crack the lineup for Oregon in 2026, but once he did, Lauaki never left. He went on to have a tremendous season, hitting .321 with 14 home runs and 37 runs batted in. His 14 homers tied for second on the team, and not only were they home runs, but most of them were also absolute bombs. They're still talking about the 500-foot homer he hit at Illinois.

According to the report, Lauaki has a no-contact tag attached to his transfer availability, meaning he probably already has an idea of his next destination. Wherever that is, it's not Eugene, and that severely hurts Oregon baseball.
