Ohio State has rightfully earned its reputation as Wide Receiver U in recent years. With names like Terry McLaurin, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Emeka Egbuka, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., Carnell Tate, and Jeremiah Smith, who could argue? The future even looks bright as the Buckeyes have received commitments from future top pass catchers Austin Miller and Jett Harrison. Could the next in line be committing soon?
The No. 1-ranked wide receiver in the country, Monshun Sales, has set a commitment date for Friday, July 17. He will choose between Ohio State, Alabama, Indiana, LSU, and Texas and will share the news live on the Pat McAfee Show at noon ET. Sales grew up in Alabama, but currently lives in Indiana and plays for Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis.
There was a time when the Buckeyes were seen as the odds-on favorite to land Sales, but that sentiment seems to have faded in recent months. Most believe it's a two-team race between the Hoosiers and the Crimson Tide. However, some believe Texas has entered the picture as a potential dark horse candidate to land Sales.
Should OSU land Sales, it would add to an already impressive recruiting class. He would join the No. 4-rated receiver, Jamier Brown, who has been committed to wear Scarlet and Gray since 2024. It doesn't look favorable for the Buckeyes to land Sales, but the lure of Wide Receiver U keeps Ohio State in the race.
