A shorthanded Nashville SC tries to prevent a third loss in a row on Saturday when it hosts Real Salt Lake.
Nashville (3-3-1, 10 points) kicks off against Real Salt Lake (3-4-0, nine points) at 7:30 p.m. at Geodis Park. It will be without defender Walker Zimmerman, who suffered a concussion in last Saturday's 2-1 loss at Charlotte FC.
Zimmerman, Nashville's captain and a member of the United States men's national soccer team, took a kick to the head against Charlotte and was taken to the hospital, though he was released later that night. On Thursday, NSC coach B.J. Callaghan said Zimmerman was progressing through concussion protocol.
Nashville and Real Salt Lake have met three times in history but not since 2022. They drew in 2021 and split two games in 2022 when Nashville was a member of the Western Conference.
RSL finished third in the West and sixth overall in 2024. This season, it's been led by midfielder Diego Luna, who has scored three goals.
