NASCAR in-season tournament results for first round in Sonoma, next week's matchups

The top seed in the NASCAR in-season challenge tournament was eliminated in the first round at Sonoma Raceway.

Top-seed Tyler Reddick (36th after power-steering issues) lost his first-round matchup to 32-seed Alex Bowman (10th-place finish).

Denny Hamlin survived a spin and splitter damage to win over Ty Dillon in the 2-31 matchup.

Reddick and Daniel Suarez were the only drivers among the top-10 seeds to be eliminated in the first round.
