EVen though I think he's a bad fit for us I think he's still getting a somewhat bum rap because of the extra weight he gained. I keep hearing he had a bad senior year.

As a junior he had 10 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, 59 tackles, forced 4 fumbles, 17 QB pressures.

As a senior he had 5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 51 tackles, 5 pass deflections, 29 QB pressures.

Now yes his sacks fell in half but his pressures nearly doubled despite being double teamed more. Other stats were largely the same, when you consider that he rotated on a very good DL it's not all that surprising his stats fell off(Wilfork played much more last year than 2 years ago for example).

The Mistake Joseph made is trying to bulk up to prove he can carry more weight. he can but he needs to gain it gradually so he doesn't lose his speed. That said I still think he'll wind up being a pretty good NFL player I think he's the best pass rushing DT in the draft.

He's just not a good fit next to Bryant.

You're forgetting one thing about Joseph, Russ. He had the lowest wonderlic score in the entire draft. He scored an impressive 7 (14%)!!!!!!!!!

Whoaa! That was in dog years. If you combine McDougle's and Joseph's Wunderlics, you come out with a very respectable score of 17. So maybe we should trade down with NO and draft both.

Ouch! :D

Well, don't take too much stock in a DTs wonderlic. It is a position were intelligence isn't that big of a deal.
