Mt Lemmon bike climb

Anyone done this ? How is it ? Steady long climb not too steep.
Is one of the best road bike climb you can do in USA.

There is anything else on that mountain ?
Because if I do it on a bike and my wife and kids come later with the car and there is nothing else to do if the mountain hasn't killed me she will kill me.

Never done the ride, but there is a small town (Summerhaven) up there

There’s a restaurant and some small motels up at the top, few houses. I used to take my bike down to Tucson to ride the loop for triathlon training, never had the guts to try Mt. Lemon. Drove to the top a couple of times, plenty of cyclists on the way.

I like climbing more than flat course but I think I will try a 20k time trial in April for fun.

Mt Lemon is on the list but the wife doesn't like to be a "cyclist widow"
And If I manage to go back to work in Italy the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche is on the list too.
