Hey guys..... I know a lot of you go to the theater more than I do so here are some questions.

I watched the Maverick trailer for the 1 trillionth time last night and saw Regular, IMAX, and Large Formats available.

For action movies which one would you choose? Why?

Also.... my friend talks about DBox a ton. Has anyone experienced it? Thoughts?

I have poor choices locally but have traveled to bigger theaters when appropriate. For example, I watched Apollo 11 in an IMAX theater.

So to put it simply:

What are your go-to's, and why? If I'm gonna plop down that much money.... I want it to be good.

Most action movies aren’t shot on IMAX cameras though. Unless you’re Christopher Nolan, studios aren’t willing to pay the expense.

it really depends on the theater. For example, at my theater of choice here (AMC 16 in Burbank) they have Dolby, Prime, IMAX, and IMAX with laser. Personally I would pick Dolby 10 times out of 10.

The Dolby at AMC is incredible in my experience.
