Blue Thunder

Cast: Roy Scheider, Warren Oates, Candy Clark, Daniel Stern, Paul Roebling, David Sheiner, Joe Santos, Malcolm McDowell.

Plot Summary: The cop test pilot for an experimental police helicopter learns the sinister implications of the new vehicle.

Trivia: The film is dedicated to Warren Oates (1928-1982), who played Capt. Jack Braddock and whose final film this was.

The control stick in the F-16 cockpit is identical to the one from the Viper starfighter cockpit in "Battlestar Galactica" (1978).

Definitely one of my favorites from my childhood. Saw it in the theater and a few times since. Loved how high-tech and futuristic everything was (at the time). Roy Scheider was great as the memorable character of Frank Murphy.

Same here. I need to revisit this one.
I'm a sucker for conspiracy plots...throw in an attack helo and its no wonder i loved this movie when i was younger.
