Defending champions RCB make back-to-back finals in IPL 2026
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have once again made their place in another IPL final, making consecutive appearances (2025 and 2026) at the big stage with a chance to defend their title against the winners of Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on May 31, 2026.
RCB defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala, powered by an unbeaten 93 off 33 balls from skipper Rajat Patidar. The defending champions piled up 254/5 in their 20 overs.
GT then crumbled under the pressure of the chase as RCB pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Jacob Duffy ripped through the batting lineup, reducing the Titans to five wickets down inside the powerplay.
RCB eventually sealed a commanding 92-run victory - the second-biggest winning margin by runs in IPL playoff history.
