PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Mosley baseball, the No. 21 team in the state and No. 2 in Class 5A, rallied for an 8-7 extra-inning victory over Arnold, completing a season sweep of the Marlins for the first time since 2021.
The Dolphins improved to 15-5 with the win, while Arnold dropped its seventh straight game to fall to 7-10.
The Dolphins outfielder Brayden Nelson sac fly pushed across the winning run in the eighth inning after surrendering a late lead in a back-and-forth contest.

After a scoreless start, Mosley broke through with three runs in the third inning and added three more in the fifth to build a 6-2 advantage. Arnold responded with five runs between the fourth and sixth innings to tie the game at 7-7 and force extras.
Mosley answered with a run in the seventh to extend the game, then delivered the decisive run in the eighth.
Mosley coach Doug Lee praised Arnold pitcher Jackson Ross for his performance on the mound. In seven innings, Ross threw eight strikeouts and was decisive in crucial moments in the matchup.
“He kept us uncomfortable all night and really pitched a great game,” Lee said. “Our guys showed resilience, not getting hung up on being down and getting a great win against an Arnold team that has had our number for years."
Mosley amplified their bullpen depth, featuring five pitchers on the night from starter Carter Payne to Brady Lee, Derek Ortiz, Peyton Williams and Jake Yeats.
The Dolphins’ ability to respond in key moments reflects a mindset built long before the season began.
“At the beginning of the year, we set our goals as a team,” Harless said. “We didn’t want to fall short — we wanted to make it to Fort Myers and every one of us has been working our tails off every single day, even before the season started.”
Junior pitcher and infielder Brady Lee said that preparation has translated into confidence on the field.
“We worked hard in the weight room during Christmas break and in the fall, and we came together as a team,” Lee said. “We really bond together, and we believe we can beat anybody. We trust what we’ve prepared.”
That belief proved critical as Mosley battled back late.
“When you face adversity, you’ve got to keep going — the game’s not over until it’s over,” Lee said. “You’ve got to keep grinding, keep pushing, and you never know what’s going to happen.”
Harless, who is 6-0 on the season, said confidence on the mound is key in those situations.
“At the end of the day, it’s a mindset,” Harless said. “I’ve got to go out there and be the biggest dog on the field. I can’t think, ‘Who am I facing?’ — it’s got to be, ‘I’m better than that guy.’”
He added that trust in his teammates plays a major role.
“I know I’ve got eight or nine guys behind me who’ve got my back when the ball’s put in play,” Harless said.
Lee said the team’s chemistry has helped fuel its success.
“It’s a fun group of guys. We all laugh together, joke together,” Lee said. “But when it’s game time, we get locked in and ready to go.”
