Morocco will face France on Thursday, July 9 to kick off the 2026 World Cup quarterfinals.
The Atlas Lions have reached the last eight after getting past the Netherlands on penalties in the round of 32, then hammering Canada 3-0 in the round of 16. Now Mohamed Ouahbi's side will take on France in a rematch of the 2022 semifinal.
France won that match four years ago, 2-0, and Morocco will aim for revenge in an effort to make its second consecutive World Cup semifinal.
The health of star forward Ismael Saibari is a major question mark heading into the match. Saibari went off with a muscle injury against Canada and hasn't been training leading up to the game against France.
