Jersey Sport says the funding will support 35 projects across 23 local organisations [BBC]

More than £244,000 has been invested into Jersey's sporting community through the first round of a charitable funding scheme.

Jersey Sport said the Sport Activation funding would support 35 projects across 23 local organisations, supported by the Channel Islands Lottery and the legacy of Valerie Guy.

It said projects supported increased participation, developing coaches, officials and volunteers, strengthening organisations through professional workforce support and improving sporting facilities across Jersey.

Jersey Sport said the new round of funding meant it had now distributed £718,933 to local sport in 2026 - working towards its commitment to invest £1m into the community for the year.

"From rebuilding facilities and expanding community programmes, to developing coaches and creating new opportunities for underrepresented groups, the funded projects will make a lasting impact across a wide range of sports over the coming year," it said.

The next round of teams will be picked in October and funding distributed in December.
