The Major League Baseball Players Association appointed Bruce Meyer as its Executive Director on Tuesday, one day after the sudden resignation of Tony Clark.
Jeff Passan of ESPN was first to report Meyer’s appointment Wednesday.

Clark resigned abruptly from his post as Executive Director of the union Tuesday. According to multiplereports, an internal investigation revealed Clark had an inappropriate relationship with his sister-in-law, who was hired by the union in 2023.
Clark’s resignation came less than 10 months before the Collective Bargaining Agreement that governs the relationship between Major League Baseball players and owners is set to expire.
Bruce Meyer told reporters Wednesday that he expects to lead negotiations against MLB and commissioner Rob Manfred as the two sides attempt to strike a new agreement before the 2027 season.
Meyer is a veteran of more than three decades in sports law.
