The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently sitting atop all of Major League Baseball as the first team to reach 50 wins on the season.
It should come as little surprise that this team is looking to be trade deadline buyers once again. But, the question now becomes whether this team will be adding top-tier talent, or stand pat with their already elite roster.
If they do add, MLB insider Robert Murray of Fansided.com revealed the Dodgers' best trade fit this summer. Unsurprisingly, the best fit for the Dodgers in the trade market is $32 million Cy Young Detroit Tigers ace, Tarik Skubal.

"Best fit: Tarik Skubal, Detroit Tigers," Murray writes. "... Their roster makes them the heavy favorites to win their third consecutive World Series, and adding Tarik Skubal might put them over the top."
While the Dodgers might not necessarily need someone like Skubal, with Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and the rest of the rotation being more than good enough, he would be a massive addition regardless.
Not only would this move stop another top rival contender, like the Atlanta Braves, from adding Skubal, but the Dodgers have the farm system and MLB rotation depth to make such a trade worthwhile in 2026.

Besides, this Dodgers team has a chance to three-peat, and adding Skubal would be a huge boost to those World Series odds that already are the best in baseball.
As Murray notes, "With Skubal lingering on the market, the Dodgers will surely make a phone call to Detroit."
A Skubal trade would be very bold for the Dodgers, but few teams in baseball can afford the lofty price tag and justify the expense like the Dodgers can.
Looking around the league, Skubal is clearly the best trade fit for the Dodgers. He would be a huge improvement in the rotation alongside Ohtani and Yamamoto, and make the Dodgers even more dreadful of a postseason matchup this year.
