Rice has continued to produce. Entering the week, he leads all MLB first basemen in OPS. He’s been the Yankees’ best hitter, not named Aaron Judge.

2. Matt Olson, Atlanta Braves

Olson is having a great start to the 2026 season. His hot start puts him ahead of his previous two seasons. Continued production can align him with his 2023 season, where he produced 54 home runs and 139 RBI.

3. Christian Walker, Houston Astros

Walker has been having his best start in recent years. He’s rebounded well following his mediocre first season with Houston. If he can stay consistent, he has the chance to finish the season as a top 10 first baseman.

4. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays

Guerrero Jr. isn’t leaving the yard at a high frequency, but the veteran first baseman is leading all MLB first basemen in hits. Entering the week, he’s the top two in hits and OBP among MLB first basemen.

5. Munetaka Murakami, Chicago White Sox

Murakami leads MLB first basemen in home runs. He’s been all or nothing with power. Entering the week, he is the only first baseman with no doubles or triples among the league leaders.

6. Sal Stewart, Cincinnati Reds

Stewart is having a fantastic rookie season. Entering the week, he leads MLB rookies in RBI. The rookie leads Cincinnati in batting average, OBP, and RBI.

7. Ildemaro Vargas, Arizona Diamondbacks

A veteran for most of his career, Ildemaro Vargas, is taking advantage of every day at-bats with Arizona. Entering the week, he has set a career best in home runs. The production may not last for the entirety of the season, but it’s been a great story through the first month of the season.

8. Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Freeman isn’t slowing down. He’s the epitome of consistency. His power numbers may decrease, but he’s still reaching base and driving in runs.

9. Nick Kurtz, Athletics

Kurtz, last season’s AL Rookie of the Year, struggled through the first weeks of the season. However, he’s come alive in April. His production has the Athletics in early contention in the AL West.

10. Willson Contreras, Boston Red Sox

The veteran has been sensational for a struggling Red Sox team. He’s leading the team in nearly every category. His veteran voice will help get Boston on the right track.
