There has been a lot of speculation about Mitchell Robinson's future with the New York Knicks. Mitchell, New York's longest-tenured player, is a free agent this summer and it remains to be seen if the Knicks will bring him back.

Now, we've heard from Mitchell himself regarding his future.

Mitchell Robinson breaks silence on future with New York Knicks​

When asked if he hopes to be back with the Knicks, Robinson was largely noncommittal.

“We can see what happens," Robinson said. "It would be great, try to do it, try to run it back again, try to go back-to-back… Defending champs, so we’ll, that’s very a possibility.”

These comments from Robinson come on the heels of several reports that suggest his days in New York are likely numbered.

A report Stefan Bondy of the New York Post said that the Knicks will likely be unwilling, or unable, to re-sign Robinson.

From Bondy:

The longest-tenured Knick probably won’t get a chance at an NBA title repeat. Mitchell Robinson is unlikely to return to the Knicks next season, a source told The Post’s Stefan Bondy on Thursday night.

Robinson is an unrestricted free agent, and with Knicks owner James Dolan making clear he is not willing to go into the second apron, it was always going to be questionable whether the big man would be back in New York.

If the Knicks don't retain Robinson, he is expected to have several suitors in free agency, including the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.
