New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel has taken a liking to Will Campbell and Jared Wilson’s leadership this spring.

Vrabel stated at the team’s third and final day of mandatory minicamp practice that he’s been impressed with the way that Campbell and Wilson have pushed the offensive line unit.

“Just maturity. I think he’s studying the game. He’s trying different things," Vrabel said of Campbell. "The spring is the opportunity and time to try things. The quarterback is not going to get hit. The touchdowns don't count. ...He’s working on different sets, working on different techniques. ...It’s been really good to see him and Jared Wilson push that [offensive line] group, and so I'm excited about that."

Campbell and Wilson were both heavily scrutinized for their play in the Super Bowl at the end of last season. The 2025 first-round draft pick allowed 14 total pressures in the Patriots’ 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, while Wilson also played poorly at left guard.

With both offensive linemen approaching their second season in the league in 2026, much attention will be on them in the Patriots’ revamped offensive line that features new veteran star guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, as well as right guard Mike Onwenu and right tackle Morgan Moses.

The Patriots drafted Caleb Lomu with the No. 28 overall pick in this year’s draft to be Campbell’s backup, placing pressure on the 22-year-old Campbell to perform up to standard next season, while Wilson is preparing to start at center for New England in 2026.
