The New England Patriots will not be opening the return window on wide receiver Mack Hollins from injured reserve on Wednesday, per Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
Hollins has been dealing with an abdominal injury since Week 16 that led to him being placed on injured reserve on December 27. He is eligible to return for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos if he's healthy enough to practice.
However, for now at least, that does not appear to be the case.
The veteran wideout has recorded 46 receptions for 550 yards and two touchdowns on the year. His return would be a huge boost for the offense.
There's still hope that Hollins could return for the game, but one would expect him to practice in at least some capacity before being cleared to play.
If he's unable to return, the team will have to continue to lean on others to step up in his absence.
