Sam Darnold's journey is so well documented. He went from a top-3 pick to labeled bust with the Jets, a journeyman backup and, now, a Super Bowl champion starting quarterback.
He had one person to thank for that on Sunday.
Following the Seahawks' dominant 29-13 Super Bowl 60 win over the Patriots, Darnold shared a great postgame conversation on the field with head coach Mike Macdonald. In the 22 seconds, Darnold thanked his coach for believing in him, commented on the yellow Gatorade smell and the two validated each other as forever Super Bowl champions.
It was so cool to hear, and NFL Films microphones picked up all of it.
"Thanks for believing in me," Darnold said.
It's safe to say that the whole city of Seattle believes in Darnold after a win (and season) like that.
