Michigan State hockey is back on the ice on Friday night, closing a two-game series against Notre Dame, and looking to continue their path to a third straight regular season Big Ten championship.
On Thursday night, the Spartans opened the two-game set with the Fighting Irish earning a 4-2 win, and are looking to do more of the same on Friday night.
Follow along with the action from inside of Munn Ice Arena:
Welp, we have the inverse of what happened early in this game, with another scuffle breaking out but the Spartans pick up the extra minor. Penalty kill upcoming.
Michigan State capitalizes on the power play, with a Porter Martone shot tipping off of a Fighting Irish defender and finding the back of the net. Spartans hold the one goal advantage. Credit Matt Basgall with the assist.
A scuffle has already broken out here, and we are getting a rare four on three powerplay in favor of the Spartans. Stramel goes for unsportsmanlike conduct, while one for ND is off for unsportsmanlike and another for roughing.
UPDATE: The referees changed the unsportsmanlike conducts to offsetting minors, and it will be a traditional powerplay for the Spartans.
