The Michigan State Spartans just got a lot taller.
East Lansing, meet 7-foot-2 Anton Bonke.
Bonke has committed as a transfer to come play for Tom Izzo in the 2026-27 MLB season.
The big fella comes to Michigan State from Charlotte, with the news reported Wednesday by On3 Sports:
NEWS: 7-foot-2 Charlotte transfer center Anton Bonke has committed to Michigan State, source told @On3. ⁰⁰The junior big man averaged 10.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game this season. First by @JonChep. https://t.co/q8Z1tKnBPrpic.twitter.com/lwyJmpsxV8

As that post shows, Bonke had a productive 2025-26 season with Charlotte, putting up 10.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
He isn't shy about shooting, either -- he made 34.2% of his 3-point shots while making 57.6% of his overall shots from the field.
Bonke began his college career with a season at the junior college level, then played for Providence (6.6 minutes per game) in 2024-25 before coming to Charlotte.
The most interesting fact about Bonke is his home. He's from Vanuatu, which is a small island country in the southern Pacific Ocean.
Next stop: East Lansing and the Michigan State University Spartans.
