Jaxon Kohler will get his chance to show he's ready for the NBA.
The Michigan State basketball forward has agreed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal with his home state Utah Jazz after the 2026 NBA Draft on Wednesday, June 24, his father, Jeff, confirmed to the Free Press.
Kohler earned an honorable-mention All-Big Ten nod this season and led the Spartans with 8.9 rebounds a game while finishing second at 12.5 points, both career highs for the four-year senior. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound native of American Fork, Utah, shot 38.9% from 3-point range (58-for-149) and 50% overall from the floor, along with 86.9% at the free-throw line.

GREEN AND GRIZZ: Carson Cooper signing with Memphis after NBA Draft
For his career, Kohler averaged 6.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in 127 career games. The former four-star recruit also is a 78% career free-throw shooter.
An Exhibit 10 deal is a one-year, non-guaranteed agreement which puts Kohler into Jazz training camp and gives him a chance to earn a spot in the organization. Teams must sign players to a two-way contract or send them to their G League affiliate after training camp ends. Former MSU star Jaren Jackson Jr. was traded to Utah from Memphis last season.
The NBA's Las Vegas Summer League runs July 9-19 in Nevada, with games also played in California (July 3-6 in Sacramento and San Francisco) and Utah (July 4, 6-7 in Salt Lake City).
It was the second straight NBA draft in which MSU did not have a player selected. Tom Izzo’s last NBA pick came in 2025 when Jase Richardson went in the first round to Orlando at No. 25. Kohler's fellow senior big man, Carson Cooper, reportedly agreed to a two-way deal with the Memphis Grizzlies after the draft ended.
Two MSU players – returning point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. and incoming transfer center Anton Bonke – tested the NBA Draft process as underclassmen before withdrawing their names last month.
