The New York Mets have one of the best records in baseball at 24-14, but they've still dealt with adversity in the young 2025 season. One of their biggest issues has been injuries.
The Mets are still without infielder Ronny Mauricio (knee), right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas (lat), left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea (oblique), outfielder Jesse Winker (oblique), left-handed pitcher A.J. Minter (lat), left-handed pitcher Danny Young (elbow), right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn (knee), outfielder Jose Siri (tibia), and others, via MLB.com.
Minter was having one of the best seasons of his career before he went down, notching a 1.64 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 13 games. However, the 31-year-old gave an unfortunate update before the Mets' matchup with the Chicago Cubs on Friday, via SNY.

"I tore my lat off the bone. From what I've learned, they're going to go in and re-attach it, put some anchors in...It's going to be about a 10-12 month rehab process," the reliever explained. "The goal is to come in and have a somewhat normal spring training [next season]..."
"I think probably since it's an arm injury, it's probably going to be a little more cautious in spring training, probably a little bit slower of a process, if I had to guess," he continued.
New York announced on Monday that Minter will get season-ending surgery, but the injury details and rehab timeline are new updates, via SNY. The veteran will get the procedure done next Monday, May 12.
