Lake Mary Little League came up short last year at the Little League Softball World Series. Now an almost totally new team is back in Greenville, North Carolina, to bring another championship trophy back home.

The champs of Florida yet again, Lake Mary tore through the Southeast regional tournament, winning all four games in Warner Robins, Georgia, to secure its second straight LLSWS appearance. Their 2025 run came up one game short of a spot in the semifinals, losing twice in the double-elimination tournament to Oklahoma by a combined score of 5-2.

Brynn Fieser is the only player back from that group. The rest of the 12- and 13-year-olds will be fresh faces playing for Florida's first Little League softball title since 1996 (the Lake Mary baseball team, of course, won it all in 2024). Florida will have at least one celebrity in their cheering section: Taurean Green, a starter on the Florida Gators' back-to-back national championship basketball teams in the 2000s, was a staple at regionals rooting for daughter Kylie Green, Lake Mary's center fielder.

The Little League World Series pits 12 teams of 10- to 12-year-olds from across the world against each other for the world championship. While Little League Baseball requires all players to fall under the age limit by the end of August, Little League Softball rules state anyone who was 12 before Jan. 1 is eligible to compete.
