Meet Ohio’s top 50 high school football Class of 2027 recruits

High school football in Ohio has always been a battleground of elite gridiron talent, but the Class of 2027 is setting a whole new standard. Entering their pivotal junior campaigns, these top 50 prospects aren't just leading their high school squads — they're shaping the future of college football's top programs.

The introduction of Name-Image-Likeness in 2021 brought plenty of changes to the landscape of recruiting while athlete empowerment continues to grow at both the high school and collegiate levels. That trend has resulted in more competitive recruiting around Ohio football, as the current 2027 top 50 list includes plenty of student-athletes heading to Division I FBS schools.

We’ve compiled a list of the top 50 players in state based from 247Sports composite and included college outlooks for each pledge thus far.

Ahead of the upcoming campaign’s first Friday night lights, here’s the top 10 Class of 2027 recruits across Ohio high school football along with the next 40 best below.

No. 10: Brayton Feister ∣ LB/ATH ∣ Massillon Washington​

• College Commitment: Oregon
• Bio: A hard hitting 4-star linebacker who plays with great sideline-to-sideline range and instincts against both the run and pass. Feister has also starred as a high-volume running back for Massillon Washington's powerful program.

No. 9: Dylan Latell ∣ OT ∣ Girard​

• College Commitment: Virginia Tech
• Bio: A massive 6-7, 275-pound tackle from Eastern Ohio, Latell features an ideal prototype frame for Power 4 football. He also plays basketball and saw action on defense for Girard, logging 57 tackles and multiple sacks.

No. 8: Dominic Black ∣ OT ∣ Tri-Village​

• College Commitment: Kentucky
• Bio: A multi-sport star who stands 6-5 and 290 lbs, Black is an all-state basketball center and school-record shot put thrower. His rare agility, footwork, and functional strength make him one of Ohio's top offensive line talents.

No. 7: Kei'Shjuan Telfair ∣ ATH ∣ Euclid​

• College Commitment: Penn State
• Bio: A consensus 4-star prospect, Telfair is a dynamic two-way playmaker with elite functional athleticism, ball skills, and man-coverage technique developed at both cornerback and wide receiver for Euclid.

No. 6: Monsanna Torbert Jr. ∣ DB ∣ Cincinnati Taft​

• College Commitment: Michigan
• Bio: One of Ohio's premier secondary targets, Torbert Jr. possesses quick hips, excellent coverage instincts, and two-way versatility at corner and quarterback. After picking up major Power Four interest following a stellar sophomore and junior campaign, he shut down his recruitment in favor of the Wolverines.

• Bio: A 4-star defensive back who has been a multi-year starter for Anderson's deep postseason runs, Alston stands out for his instincts, ball-hawking ability (29+ pass breakups in high school), and physical perimeter tackling.

No. 4: Jordan Karhoff ∣ TE/EDGE ∣ Columbus DeSales​

• College Commitment: Virginia Tech
• Bio: Measuring in at 6-5 and 225 pounds, Karhoff is a versatile two-way standout who excels as a modern pass-catching tight end while also wreaking havoc as a defensive pass rusher (17 TFLs as a junior). He selected Virginia Teach over nearly 40 Division I offers, including Miami and Texas A & M.

No. 3: David Tarawallie ∣ OT ∣ Painesville Riverside​

• College Commitment: Penn State
• Bio: Standing at 6-6 with an impressive 6-9 wingspan, Tarawallie boasts high-upside athleticism, bend, and physical traits at tackle. After putting on weight and displaying dynamic movement skills, his recruitment exploded with double-digit Power Four offers before he committed to Penn State.

No. 2: Kellen Wymer ∣ OT ∣ Liberty Center​

• College Commitment: Ohio State
• Bio: A powerful 4-star offensive trench prospect out of Northwest Ohio, Wymer has been a key force upfront in Liberty Center's run-heavy, physical offense. Standing 6-5 and 265 pounds, he chose the in-state Buckeyes over major offers from across the Big Ten and Midwest, including Michigan and Notre Dame.

No. 1: Jamier Brown ∣ WR ∣ Big Walnut​

• College Commitment: Ohio State
• Bio: A consensus elite 5-star target in the Class of 2027, Brown combines explosive speed with dynamic playmaking ability. In addition to racking up over 1,000 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns, he is an elite sprinter on the track who set national freshman records in the 60-meter dash. After transferring from Huber Heights Wayne to Big Walnut, he has also been a major high-profile advocate for high school NIL rights in Ohio.
