The Vancouver Canucks had the first pick on day two of the 2026 NHL Draft.

And with the No. 33 overall selection, to start the second round, they chose Brooks Rogowski.

Rogowski is a fascinating center from the state of Michigan.

He stands 6-foot-7, and he's also got an awesome athletic background in his family.

What to know about Brooks Rogowski​


Rogowski just turned 18 years old on June 24, and he's from Brighton, Michigan.

He played high school hockey at Detroit Catholic Central High School capped his time there with a state championship in 2023-24.

From there, he was chosen in the OHL Draft by the Oshawa Generals, for whom he has played two seasons so far.

Rogowski had 15 goals and 27 assists (42 points) in 46 games in the 2025-26 season.

He's committed to play college hockey at Michigan State.

Brooks Rogowski's family and baseball​


Rogowski has two family members who have been drafted into pro baseball.

His dad, Casey, was a draft pick by the Chicago White Sox.

His uncle, Ryan, was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Now, Rogowski takes his talents to pro hockey.
