During a new interview, WWE star Matt Cardona revealed a fantastic and hilarious idea that the company should put in their next 2K video game.
One of the best products that wrestling companies create from their televised content is their video games. It allows devoted supporters of the industry to be the bookers and live out their dream matches. Another fun element of wrestling games is the career modes.
If you can’t become a wrestler in real life, WWE fans can create one and take the journey to becoming a main event WWE superstar. Over the last couple of decades, the creators of the company’s games have made a lot of fun tweaks to the career mode. Well, Cardona has a great idea for WWE 2K7 that mirrors the stories of several popular current stars.

“Man, I think there should be a mode where you get fired, then you go and work your ass off on the indies for five years and come back. I’m serious,” he told Sporf. “You go, and you wrestle in all these dingy places. Then you go to Japan. Then you wrestle outside at some fair, and then you make it back to WWE.”
Cardona is the latest one-time WWE star to be fired and then become a star on the independent scene to earn his way back into the No. 1 company in the world. Current WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes did something similar from 2016 to 2022 after he quit the company. Before him, Drew McIntyre created the blueprint of how to get back to WWE by becoming a top indy star from 2014 to 2017.
