The next Manning quarterback is in development.
Peyton Manning's son, Marshall Manning, is preparing for his ninth-grade season at Baylor High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, this fall. Ahead of his first year of high school football, Marshall has been working with David Morris and Reese Phillips of "QB Country."
Phillips recently shared a video of Marshall running through drills on QB Country Chattanooga's Instagram page. That video has been re-shared and gone viral on Twitter/X, with fans and pundits comparing the QB's mannerisms to his father's.
"Didn’t realize the Peyton Manning 'play action head duck' was hereditary," SiriusXM's Post Andrew Cooper wrote.
"He’s doing it like his neck is fused," Ian Campbell quipped.
Check out the video:
Yahoo's Nate Tice wrote that "the fundamentals never go out of style."
The Athletic's Ted Nguyen noted that Marshall holds the ball high, just like his dad, which is less common in today's game.
It's obvious that Marshall has learned a lot from his dad, likely both directly and from observation.
Marshall still has four years of high school ahead of him, and then, potentially, a college football career, but football fans will undoubtedly be eager to track his progress.

The same Peyton Manning ball carriage by the chin.
More modern QBs hold the ball lower for a more relaxed, natural arm motion on the layover. https://t.co/XXUB9qsjhnpic.twitter.com/LrG0LqaB3T

You thought that someone being taught by Peyton Manning wouldn’t have every detail perfect in their drop?
