What's the story with him? I have heard very little about him this pre-season. Is he hurt, not playing,or just not very good? I know when we got him, everyone thougt he had some potential and would make the team.Is that still the case?

Smaller (about 6'2") and slower than advertized. Inconsistent hands. Doesn't give us anything we don't already have on the roster.

He'll be out of football within 3 weeks.

Portland Oregon these days.
I disagree.

He's been a slow start, but to me looks like he's learning quickly from Sully. In the Dallas game he had an excellent catch, where he had to take the ball from a Cowboy defender. He also did some great blocking.

I agree. I just posted in Walters WR thread that I felt he moved ahead of McAddley. He has shown a positive improvement throught out training camp and the Cowboy game.

I'm not certain how spending last year on IR with the Bucs affects his eligibility for the practice squad, but I could see Walker ending up there. Sullivan's had the least time with him among the wideouts--except, possibly, Bryant Johnson, who's gotten more reps than Walker since he signed--and you've gotta think there's some unrealized potential still there.

I mean, this guy was a 3rd-rounder, and holds the Michigan season and career records for receptions. Surely, he's worth parking on the PS for a year to take a longer look.

I don't think he'll clear waivers to make it to our practice squad. That's the drill right? Players have to clear waivers before they can be placed on the PS?

I wonder if that's what Seattle was thinking would happen to Kasper last year when they released him...

Walker vs. McAddley

This may be the battle at this point.

McAddley has it over Walker in the speed issue.

Walker wins in the hands issue.

Which type of receiver do we need?

Who would be the most productive?

Either one will see little action this year so can one of them help out on special teams?

McAddley wins the special team nod.

I guess the jury is still out.

The bottom line may be one of these guys gets cut.

When or if they do someone will pick them up.

Ah, Brighteyes, you and MadCard are mistaken about Walker and McAddley.

McAddley is the real #2 WR but is being sent a message for being inconsistent. Come opening day, this will be the WR depth chart:

WR1 Bryan Gilmore, Bryant Johnson
WR2 Jason McAddley, Larry Foster
Slot WR Anquan Boldin
WR4 Kevin Kasper

Marquise Walker will be out of football.

For WR you mean Foster?

Good list but it's like the multi-organed guy at the Circus....too many Johnsons.

Are you suggesting that McAddley has a roster spot secure already? I think the SD game will begin to show who comes out ahead in this battle. If McAddley continues to look inconsistant he better start looking for another job.

I would agree with Skorp that there are some mind/motivation games going on right now...kasper started today along with gilmore...Frankly, it is kind of hard to figure out where the top 7 or 8 shake out...I think Sully already knows exactly who will be where..but he is not letting anyone know (except for the receiver coach). But....IMO Kasper was handed a gift on Saturday..I am sure all of the receivers would have been begging for the call to run the reverse..after the 1st couple of plays - you could tell the cowboys stopped honoring the fake reverse..I kept thinking..if they would hand the ball off - it would probably be a big gain. Sully made the call that the ball goes to kasper..a reward of some sort I think - at the time it was in the 3rd quarter and we been rotating in like 8 receivers already...kasper got the gift..I thought it meant something..Maybe it means nothing - who knows..
