As we enter July, Kentucky Basketball still has an opening for an assistant on its coaching staff.

The Kentucky coaching staff has seen notable turnover this offseason with the departure of Jason Hart and Alvin Brooks III. Mark Pope hired Mo Williams to join him on staff, but Pope still has a remaining vacancy.

Pope was interviewed on BBN Tonight and said he’s in no rush to fill that open spot, and added he’s really happy with the current staff make-up.

Pope said he’s not desperate to add another piece to the coaching staff right now.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like an announcement of a new assistant will be coming in the very near future, so we’ll continue to wait to see how the staff shakes out.
