Two sub-.500 teams will duke it out for first place on a minor league field.

Logan Gilbert gets the ball for the M’s as they look to sweep away an AL West rival in the third and final game of the series Wednesday in Sacramento. Gilbert’s last start on May 22 was a no decision where he allowed two hits and no runs over 5.2 innings in an eventual 2-0 win over the Royals.

The Athletics will counter with Jeffrey Springs in the series finale. For the second day in a row, the Mariners will roll out their right-handed platoon to face the lefty. Jhonny Pereda gets a start behind the dish while Mitch Garver gets a day off. Rob Refsnyder and Víctor Robles will man the corner-outfield positions in left and right field, respectively.

Mariners righties accounted for eight of the team’s 11 hits in yesterday’s win, with Robles checking in with a three-hit night.
