Marina Mabrey is going to be riding in style after scoring a WNBA record 53 points.
In case you missed it, the Toronto Tempo torched the Los Angeles Sparks during a 125-97 blowout win Thursday night. Leading the charge was Mabrey, who joined the team in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft.
The Tempo guard scored the game's first points with a fadeaway jumper, and punctuated her night with a 3-ball that tied a WNBA record for most points in a single game (53). Mabrey's huge night earned her a special perk: a ride in Angel Reese's Rolls-Royce.
"Yeah, I guess Marina deserves a ride in the RR," Reese said on social media postgame. Reese and Mabrey previously spent time together as teammates in Chicago during Reese's rookie season.
"Finallyyyyy," Mabrey said in response.
Mabrey sank nine 3-pointers during her historic night, which also tied a league record for the most triples in a single game.
She also put her name in the history books for another record that many may not have realized. Mabrey, who was drafted by the Sparks with the 19th overall pick in 2019, is now the first player in WNBA history to score 40-plus points against her former team.
"To do it in the WNBA is kind of like a dream come true, and to have teammates that support me, and just like looking for me everywhere, want me to do my best ― shoutout to them. And shoutout to Sandy (Brondello) for getting me in an offense where I can really thrive," Mabrey said.
