It has been quite a while since Marcus Morris Sr. was a member of the Boston Celtics, but the former Celtics forward still has plenty to say about his former teammate on the wing Jaylen Brown being in the thick of trade rumors since the failed attempt to land Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks via trade. Morris shared his point of view on the ubiquity of the Georgia native in the NBA offseason rumor mill on a recent episode of ESPN's "First Take".

"We are talking about one of the guys that carried this team, that has been the longest tenured Celtic on the team," shared the Boston alum of Brown's current conundrum. "I had the privilege to play with him and Jayson Tatum and watch these guys grow up."

"This is a mature young fellow in this league, he is in his prime right now," said Morris. "I don't know if you can actually go out on the market and find a better player that plays defense and offense at the highest level, being a great two-way player."

"He is a leader, he is a motivator, he is the definition of a Celtic," he added. It remains to be seen how this situation will play out for the Cal alum, with rumbles abounding that there might be a path to running it back with Boston.

But there are new trade rumors involving Brown emerging almost every day since the pursuit of the Greek Freak failed earlier this week, and such rumbles (true or not) can often poison the proverbial well for such a scenario even when the parties have had a strong relationship in the past.
