Pro Day is always a huge deal at LSU, but the 2026 edition brought an added level of media circus, due to the coaching change this offseason. Additional attention is on LSU this year because they hired a polarizing figure in Lane Kiffin, and the manner in which it all went down was excessively dramatic.
They could likely be the most talked-about college football program in the entire nation during 2026, and that means increased visibility for all of their top NFL Draft prospects. Cornerback Mansoor Delane should be the first LSU Tiger off the boards next month, and he might just be a top ten overall pick.
Delane, a Virginia Tech transfer who only played his senior season (2025) at Louisiana State, entered Pro Day as arguably the top cornerback prospect in this class.
He only solidified that status on Monday by running a blazing fast 4.35 in the 40-yard dash.
In additional trials, Delane delivered additional 40s in the 4.3s. He also wowed the large contingent of NFL people on hand in Baton Rouge with his impressive showing during the defensive back skills drill.
Look at that fancy footwork and supreme agility on display there. Combine that with his straight line speed and well, it's easy to see he's such a blue chip prospect. LSU lays claim to being DBU, and Delane looks poised to continue the tradition.
