Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis, a prized offseason acquisition for the Miami Dolphins, showed up to a Miami Marlins game May 1 and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Needless to say, he missed his open receiver by a few yards. The pitch may or may not have struck the backstop on the fly.
Presumably, Willis will be a bit more pinpoint for new Dolphins head coach and former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley after signing a three-year, $67.5 million deal this offseason. Willis has been sparkling as the No. 2 quarterback for the Packers over the past two seasons.
If we're being honest, QB1 Jordan Love did throw his own ceremonial first pitch a shade high when he showed up to the Brewers season opener. But the catcher caught it, at least.
