The biggest question coming into New York Giants training camp was when we would see Malik Nabers on the practice field. We didn’t have to wait long to get our answer, as the star receiver was on the field for the first practice.

The 23-year-old wideout participated in individual drills and was moving well. What was even more encouraging is that he didn’t have a brace on the knee that had been operated on twice.

There was even a point in practice where Nabers and Odell Beckham Jr were running routes in sync with one another.

After practice, head coach John Harbaugh was asked what it meant to have his star receiver on the field.

“It was great. It was great, yeah. You saw him. He looked good. He’s got a process going. Thought he looked good.”

The fact that New York’s best offensive weapon was practicing on day one bodes well for his chances to play Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. The season opener is a little over six weeks away, and barring a setback, you would think he’ll be on the field.

The Cowboys may have been under the assumption that the former LSU wideout wouldn’t be ready to start the season, but must now prepare for him. Nabers has been a nemesis to Dallas in his brief career.

In his three games against Dallas, the star wideout has 29 receptions for 351 yards and two touchdowns. It would give New York a big boost of confidence if he’s on the field for the opener.

The team will take it day by day with Nabers, as the most important thing is his health. But you can’t help but envision what a healthy Nabers would look like catching passes for Jaxson in the season opener.
