The Kentucky Basketball team is on campus in Lexington as summer workouts are underway. The transfer portal and international recruiting circuit are winding down as players find homes, and the Cats have landed some of the best players. Just ask Malachi Moreno.

Moreno, who will be playing his second season in a Wildcats jersey, has some real confidence in his team for this upcoming season.

“I said it a lot last year, but I believe we have the best frontcourt in the nation this upcoming season. Me, Reece (Potter), Franck (Kepanag), Justin (McBride), and Ousmane (N’Diaye).” Moreno told reporters last week.

Head coach Mark Pope, who’s heading into his third season at the helm, made sure the Wildcats frontcourt will not be lacking any size for the 2026-27 season.

“Having guys like that, even Milan (Momcilovic), we have the best frontcourt in the country, and anyone that disagrees with that, they’ll be shown why,” he said.

Moreno has the utmost confidence in his new teammates. After spending time with coaches, scouts, and some of the top talent in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Kentucky native knows what it takes to have a breakout season.
