Makai Lemon picked by Eagles. Fans have mixed feelings on social media

The Philadelphia Eagles traded up in the 2026 NFL Draft to select USC wide receiver Makai Lemon.

The Eagles traded their first-round pick and two fourth-round selections with NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys to select Lemon.

The move is the biggest indication the Eagles are trading receiver A.J. Brown

Lemon, according to NFL.com was considered the second-best receiver in the draft behind Ohio State’s Carnell Tate. He had 79 catches for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns last season for the Trojans.

Lemon has an incredible feel for finding space in coverage and maximizing opportunities. His solid frame (5-foot-11, 195 pounds) should hold up in the slot at the NFL level. He had just two drops in 2025 on 108 targets and a 130.0 quarterback rating when targeted.

Means AJ Brown is gone for good. Makai is a beast for sure, but would’ve rather drafted an OT since our Offensive Line was too beat up last year and Lane was constantly getting hurt.

I love how every year with the NFL Draft, a player that should’ve been selected higher that they were falls down to the Eagles and it’s a great pick for the Eagles.
