Ever since Madison Keys won Eastbourne, tennis fans felt like she was one to watch at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships. The last time she won a Grand Slam warmup tournament, she went on to win that Grand Slam.
The 2025 Australian Open champion turned pro in February 2009 and has amassed over 400 career WTA wins during her long tenure as one of the best in the women’s game.
Keys loves grass but admits it does not always love her back but it does this year as she defeated 2025 Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova in three sets on Saturday.

While Wimbledon is her “least successful” Grand Slam with two quarterfinal finishes in 2015 and 2023, it is still shocking that Keys did not play on Centre Court before facing Anisimova.
This is her 12th Wimbledon. What courts has the All England Club been scheduling her matches on all these years?

Ben Shelton, 23, who has not been on the ATP Tour as long as the 31-year-old Keys, previously remarked about never playing on Centre Court. This surprised us so we are floored that Keys never had the opportunity before this year. Hopefully he does not have to wait as long as Keys to get his chance.

Keys will face Linda Noskova in the Round of 16 on Monday, July 6 at a time to be determined. Noskova, the ninth seed, is the highest ranked player in Keys, seeded 26th, section of the draw which contained Elena Rybakina, eliminated by Elise Mertens on Saturday.
