May 15—BEMIDJI — The Lumberjacks had no problems in their final home games of the regular season.
The Bemidji High School softball team cruised to a pair of run-rule wins. The Jacks beat Detroit Lakes 10-0 in six innings before dispatching Fergus Falls 12-0 in five innings at the BHS softball field on Thursday.
Against DL, Olivia Birt went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Clara Sherwood also doubled in a 2-for-3 game with a walk. Aubrey Hanson drove in three runs in a 1-for-4 performance with a double. Callie Malkowski, Karley LaZella, Emma Greiner, Ridley Hadrava and Brooke Snobl also recorded hits.
Against Fergus Falls, LaZella doubled twice in a 3-for-3 game with three RBIs. Hanson went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Hayden Dahl, Kendal Tysver, Snobl and Malkowski each singled in the win.
LaZella started and finished both games in the circle. She threw 10 innings and allowed just six hits and two walks without allowing a run. She also struck out 19 batters.
