Lincoln Riley is on the hot seat at USC this season. How hot? That's the harder question to answer. What's not in question is that Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell -- who will coach against Riley and USC in 2026 -- occupies a hotter seat. Nittany Lions Wire has more:

"It seems like now or never for the former CFP head coach. When Fickell made the move from Cincinnati to Wisconsin, it seemed like he was on top of the world as one of the most coveted young coaches in the nation. Now, after two straight down years with the Badgers, it seems more like he's out of his depth. This is a make-or-break year that could determine both the fate of the program and Fickell. He had better hope that new transfers and changes within the squad can help this program. Otherwise, next year, we may be talking about a different coach filling his shoes in Madison."

A lot of people in the Big Ten and the national college football world felt Fickell was going to be fired at the end of a brutal 2025 season for Wisconsin. The UW administration decided to give him one more chance. Fickell has to do something with that chance -- a bowl game at minimum, maybe 7-5 -- in order to get yet another season on the job in 2027.

USC has absolutely no excuses against Wisconsin. If the Trojans don't beat Fickell's Badgers, something will have gone horribly wrong.
