It’s now been almost three months since the Dallas Mavericks traded their franchise player, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the most shocking moves of the NBA season. The trade sent waves of emotion through the Dallas fanbase, many of whom were not pleased with the decision.

However, Dallas found a new star when the Dallas Wings drafted Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall in the WNBA draft. In a recent interview with Caleb Pressley on "Sundae Conversations," Doncic was asked who his favorite WNBA player was. While he didn't hesitate to pick Caitlin Clark, he was also asked about Bueckers.

"She's okay, Doncic said. I didn't see her play in the women's NBA, so."

Pressley quickly responded, "She just got drafted," to which Doncic added, "Number one." The conversation took a humorous turn when Pressley mentioned Dallas, leading to a laugh from Doncic.

Check it out:

“who’s your favorite women’s basketball player?”

luka dončić: “caitlin clark.”

“you don’t like paige bueckers?”

luka: “*shrugs* she’s okay. haven’t seen her play in the wnba, so.” pic.twitter.com/6ZQDnf8qgh

Fans quickly reacted to Doncic’s somewhat candid opinion of Bueckers, as well as his subtle jab at Dallas:

"Not him bumping CC and shading Dallas in the same clip," a fan said.

"'Uhm she’s Okay'," another fan posted.

"Meh she's okay. Luka knows ball," Someone else added.

One more fan commented, "This is wild."

Luka Doncic was drafted to the city of Dallas and spent roughly six and a half seasons with the Mavericks. Now, Bueckers seems poised to take the reins as the next basketball prodigy, and she’s set to make her preseason debut with the Wings on May 3.

Doncic, meanwhile, is currently in the midst of the NBA postseason with the Lakers, as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves in a first-round series.
